the beginning of plum

Modeled after an old-fashioned parlor, complete with tin ceilings, Victorian furnishings and velvet curtains, Plum, a high-fashion contemporary boutique, marks it's place on Ludlow, in the heart of the bohemian Lower East Side, by a lighted vintage cast iron globe. Plum, not referring to the fruit, but to the word's lesser known definition: "a choice thing," stocks "plum" pieces, hard-to-find lines and one of a kind accessories, from a mix of established and up-and-coming designers. Hailing predominantly from New York & Los Angeles, and also Denmark, London & Paris, the boutique feels like an extension of any fashion-forward gal's walk-in closet, with designers like Maison Martin Margiela, Nicolas K, Josh Goot, Grace Sun as well as jewelry by local artisans, many exclusive to the Lower East Side. Plum's seasonal trunk shows and shopping fetes are never to be missed, both as a platform for edgy designers and choice sales.
